Hi there! Thanks for dropping by…my name is Sandi Jacobs and I am so excited that you’ve stopped by. Since you’re here, let me give you a little of my background…

With over twenty-six years of travel industry experience, and over thirty-five years of marketing and sales experience, I have combined my extensive knowledge of the health and wellness industry with my passions of travel, and mind, body, spirit. I also have an undergraduate degree in Physical Education.

In the late 70's I helped manage a popular spa in Miami, Florida. I then worked at sea for four years, helping to develop Royal Caribbean Cruise Line’s first aerobic program and ShipShape (RCCL’s onboard fitness program), and was a dance instructor (I ballroom danced and tap danced in the cruise staff shows). I was the line’s first female shore excursion manager, becoming an expert on the Caribbean Islands. I was selling and leading cruise tours all throughout the Caribbean. I then went on to sell cruises for another three years, at a cruise-only agency, in Los Angeles, CA.

For the past 13 years I have been helping travel destinations market themselves to the association group travel market, driving large association groups to their hotels and convention centers. I have been working as an advertising and marketing executive for the travel industry, for the American Society of Association Executives and Schneider Publishing, selling advertising in print and online, plus sponsorships and booth sales at trade shows.

While on this endeavor, visiting client’s spas and hotels, I decided to help as many people as I can, to getaway and find relaxation at spa resorts. I am constantly looking for quiet destinations to “get away from it all” and felt that others must be looking to do the same thing….to relax & decompress so henceforth, www.amazingspas.com was born.

Our sole purpose is to help visitors find relaxation, decompress, and getaway to the most amazing Destination spas, Spa vacations, Spa Resorts, and Romantic and Weekend Getaways, offering superb discounts to already great vacations!

With my extensive knowledge of the travel industry and contacts in the travel industry, Amazing Spas is growing into a plethora of information.

As an award-winning free-lance journalist, Barbara Beckley travels the world writing about destinations from Kathmandu and Tahiti to Cabo San Lucas and Palm Springs. In addition to writing for amazingspas.com, Barbara is a frequent contributor to the Los Angeles Times Special Sections, Alaska Airlines in-flight magazine and Travelscope as well as national business and meetings publications. Her byline has also appeared in Westways, Spa and Travel Agent magazines.

Barbara's passion for travel began with a Caribbean cruise vacation she took when she was fresh out of journalism school and working as a feature writer for a Los Angeles daily newspaper. After chronicling her adventures for the paper's travel section, she took off and began exploring the world as a free-lance writer for Copley News Service. Barbara lived in London for a year, and four years in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, before she ran away to sea and joined Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, where she met amazingspas.com creator Sandi Jacobs, who was also working onboard the RCCL ships. The two have been friends ever since.

With almost 30 years of travel expertise, Barbara is a member of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW) and lectures regularly on travel writing at UCLA.
