***If you want day activities and relaxation, this is your ultimate vacation. If you’re looking for nightlife, it’s not. When we were there on a Sunday night, it was really quiet! The town rolls up at 5 PM. There were about three restaurants open in town and the Casino. We were practically the only people walking in the town that evening.

They do have stargazing activities since they’re away from the Las Vegas lights. There is a lot to do during the day, however, and with the excitement of the Strip only 17 miles away, this is luxury at its finest.

The hotel combines a full-service spa and outstanding golf with exquisite accommodations and a level of service found only at Ritz-Carlton. Thirty-three thousand square feet of flexible meeting space is available. Lake Las Vegas is a 260 acre golf and residential community situated on a shimmering 320 acre private lake surrounded by high-desert mountains and ten miles of shoreline. The community's architectural style reflects an Old World Mediterranean ambience and design. Canoes, kayaks and motorized boat rentals are available through the Lake Las Vegas marina. The Lake Mead recreational area is seven miles east of the resort.

A $20 per room per day resort fee applies to all reservations and will be charged to the guest's account at time of check-out. The resort fee includes: high speed Internet access both in-room and at the 24-hour business center, morning coffee and daily newspaper, intra-resort transportation (some are limo buses – limos that you can actually stand up in), jogger station with bottled water and towels and a gift certificate worth $20 off a $100 purchase in the signature shop or spa only.

The Ritz-Carlton Spa and recreational features included in the fee include entry to the spa, fitness center and group yoga and fitness classes, headset usage for fitness center flat-screen televisions, jogger station with bottled water and towels, preferred golf rates and driving range access, beach and pool toys, beach volleyball, croquet and board games and use of K2 full-suspension mountain bikes.

The grounds are lush and themed like a luxurious Tuscan villa. As you drive up to this oasis in the desert, you’ll see golf courses and a large fountain in front, of the mansion-like property. The walkway to the stand-alone The Ritz-Carlton Spa building is graced with lots of flowers. As you walk into the building the large reception area is the gateway to the spa, salon and shop. The full-service salon, with a make-up room, and a separate waiting/sitting area are located on this level. They serve fruit, water-infused with cucumbers and lemons. White Lion tea – Tuscan garden, honey pearls and green passion blends. The shop is filled with wonderful spa-like goodies, from robes to bath salts and thought-provoking books.

A walk down the stairs to the spa is your first correct move. There are 24 deluxe treatment rooms, hydrotherapy baths, steam rooms, sauna, cool plunge pools, whirlpools and a grotto with a tsunami shower and 84-degree pools and 109-degree whirlpool outside.

The award winning 30,000 square foot spa also includes a full-service salon, personalized fitness and wellness programs, a broad array of specialty skin treatments and massages, complete salon services, private wellness and beauty consultations, Pilates, yoga, and other movement activities, and a modern fitness facility. The spa also offers guests a chance to experience New Age treatments inspired by the water and desert, yet rooted in the tradition and sophistication of ancient and modern Italy. SIGNATURE TREATMENTS:

The $2000 Facial - The $2,000 Facial Experience at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Las Vegas features the spa's ultra-premium, nearly two-hour Vita (Life) Facial, incorporating a self-heated mud treatment for the spine and followed by a 25-minute reflexology session, complete salon haircut and style and professional make-up application. But that's just the start. Also included is a complete Vie line of skin care products to take home, valued by itself at nearly $1,000. This rare top-of-the-market line is saturated with skin-regenerating, anti-aging ingredients. A luxurious monogrammed spa robe and Lady Lanell Swarovski spa sandals (400 Swarovski crystals are on every pair) are added gifts, as is a bottle of Cristal champagne and fresh, chocolate-covered strawberries to enjoy at home or on the way there. And speaking of "on the way"... round-trip limo transportation between a local address or hotel and The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Las Vegas is also provided.

The Ritz-Carlton Spa Signature Facial - This purifying custom treatment includes a cleansing lymphatic massage, gentle exfoliation and rehydrating seaweed mask.

This spa is also one of the only spas in the West Coast to feature Prada Beauty treatments. From facials to peels, the spa incorporates the fragrant line of Prada into its signature treatments.

There are co-ed pedicure stations with a private terrace, overlooking the spa courtyard, which is also broken up into small semi-private sitting areas that are separated by foliage. There are fountains below, so the sound of water adds to the relaxation. The relaxation room serves water and tea. You have access to private shower stalls and sitting rooms. The healing waters area has a fountain flowing from the wall.

The state-of-the-art gym has TV screens on each cardio machine, weight balls and machines and free weights. There is a private balcony overlooking the pool and patio areas. There is also a movement studio for spinning, boxing, yoga, stretch bands and more.
