Sandi's Seal of Approval: Firmagen Nutraceuticals

Men and women alike want beautiful, younger skin. Myself included, and I have run across a great product that I can’t wait to tell you about!

I have been using Firmagen for about two months now and have started to see a bit more elasticity to my face and neck, even though the company representative that I have been working with Stewart Padveen, says that results will be more evident after four months of consistent use. I have seen the skin around my eyes look a bit tighter and the skin on my neck get firmer, even through a very busy travel schedule, running two businesses and readying a house, selling it and looking for a new place for my husband and me to live. I recommend that you try it our for yourself. In the meantime, I will keep you posted as month four arrives. All I know is that my skin is looking a bit better and I have done nothing else to improve it’s texture.

Read below about how you can improve your skin by eating right. To help it along, I suggest Firmagen for Younger, Softer Skin.

Young, Soft & Beautiful Skin: The Nutrition Connection

As you age, collagen begins to break down, elasticity weakens, cell regeneration slows, and blood circulation that nourishes the skin diminishes. Damage is intensified by free radicals in your body caused by poor diet and environmental factors such as sun exposure, pollution and smoking. Skin care creams, gels and lotions can help mask the superficial symptoms of aging and skin damage such as wrinkles, acne, and dry or oily skin. But did you know that skin health starts internally at the cellular level?

Inside your body, there is a complex chain-reaction that is constantly taking place called cellular regeneration. Approximately every 6 weeks, the top layer of your skin sheds, and a new layer appears. The health and appearance of this “new” skin depends directly on what you eat, drink and even breathe. Since many foods we eat and the air we breathe contain harmful substances, healthy cells inside our bodies can become damaged by free radicals which are caused by these substances. This can lead to many skin problems, such as loss of skin tone, saggy skin around the eyes, cheeks, and neck, dry or oily skin, acne, puffiness, large pores and other dermatological conditions.

Did you know that you can actually see a visible improvement to your looks and skin just by changing the way you eat? It’s true! By adding certain essential nutrients to your diet, you can help reduce the appearance of sagging skin, wrinkles, puffiness, acne, oiliness and even dry skin, giving you the appearance of tighter, softer and younger-looking skin. You can even increase contours around the cheekbones and jaw line. However, in order to consume adequate amounts of these essential nutrients, you would need to eat salmon at least 2 times per day, several cups of nuts, several plates of fruits and vegetables, and drink about 5 glasses of red wine – every single day! Just think of all those calories! And some of the most essential nutrients required for skin health are not found in the foods we normally eat. That’s why it is so important to nutritionally supplement your daily diet with powerful nutrients and anti-oxidants for long-term skin health.

Unlike traditional skin care products that only treat problems on the surface of your skin, dietary supplements works at the cellular level to help stimulate and promote your skin's restoration. Some of the most important “skin nutrients” to add to your daily diet include purified Norwegian Salmon Oil with Omega-3 Fatty Acids; Full Spectrum Natural Vitamin E with d-Alpha, d-Gamma and d-Delta Tocopherols; Alphadermalene-PBF, DMAE (Dimethyl Amino Ethanol), GLA (Gamma Linolenic Acid), HA (Hyaluronic Acid), Acetyl L-Carnitine, Alpha Lipoic Acid, CoQ10, Red Wine Extract, Grape Seed Extract, Beta Carotene, Vitamin B Complex, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Vitamin K and essential minerals, including Selenium, Magnesium and Zinc, all of which can help stimulate cell renewal, bringing back the glow and softness of healthy, younger-looking skin.

Dietary supplements can be used alone or in conjunction with any existing skin care regimen to enhance results. Don’t change a thing you’re already doing for your skin. Just add the proper “skin nutrients” to your daily diet. As a side benefit, they will provide health and immunity support.

Recent studies have shown that Alpha Lipoic Acid, Acetyl L-Canitine and Red Wine Extract in particular have anti-aging properties. And antioxidants, such as Vitamin C, have long been known to combat free radicals that lead to skin damage. One of the best supplements you can add to your diet is a daily multivitamin. However, most daily multivitamins do not contain enough of the U.S. recommended daily allowance (RDA).in just one capsule, so shop carefully.

More recently, Omega-3 Fatty Acids – which are found in certain fish oils - have become popular as studies on cultures that consume large amounts of fish tend to look younger and live longer than cultures that do not consume fish regularly. There have been studies that suggest that Omega-3 Fatty Acids tend to increase the level of HDL (the good cholesterol) and reduce the amount of LDL (the bad cholesterol). And many people credit Omega-3 Fish oils with reducing dryness in their skin and increasing the softness and glow of their skin. But be selective when buying fish oil, since not all fish oil are created equally. Many commercial fish oils are high in heavy metals, such as mercury, or even PCBs. As a rule of thumb, the larger the fish, the higher the contaminant levels. Salmon Oil tends to be among the best, since it has the highest concentration of Omega-3s and the lowest amount of contaminants. And, very importantly, consume only ocean water fish, not farm raised fish, since most farm-raised fish, even salmon, tend to have higher levels of PCBs and other contaminants.

Many people consume flax seed oil, which can also be beneficial, however, it is highly caloric and generally has a much lower concentration of Omega-3s than fish oil. So, if you take flax seed oil, be prepared to watch your waistline expand a little.

Vitamin E has recently come into the public eye after a recent study suggesting that it may have some negative consequences. While may people have been talking Vitamin E for years without any negative consequences, it is always advisable to speak to your doctor or healthcare provider prior to taking any dietary supplements. It should also be noted that many studies have shown many that Vitamin E have many benefits, including the supporting of skin health.

While there is no better way to improve your health, immunity and skin through a proper diet with lots of fruits, vegetables and water and low in fat, refined carbohydrates (such as sugars and breads) and low in sodium, it is difficult for most of us to follow this with our rigorous daily schedules. Therefore, dietary supplementation can be a great way for many people to improve their nutritional intake, which can result in improved health and a healthy glow of your skin.
